Meet The Band
River Rock Band in Yreka, California Playing Classic Rock and Country for the last 7 Years
Steve Leal
Drummer & Vocals
I've been fortunate enough to have played with numerous musical organizations and bands throughout the country for many years. In pursuit of a love for all things music, I've played drums with Country and Rock and Roll bands. I've honed my skills with orchestras, concert bands, theater orchestras and jazz bands. After college in 1975, I hit the road for a few years entertaining audiences throughout the South and along the East Coast of the US with a little band that played all the hits of the day. I'm thrilled to be playing with River Rock, one of the premier dance and party bands in Northern California. Today, I still love adding that extra flair of rhythm to music that evokes memories and brings generations together.
Lisa Andreas
Guitar, Percussion & Vocals
Business Owner: TLC Unlimited Pet Care Inc. My passion for music began in the mid 60's thanks to my mom and dad's stereo. Julie Andrews in the Sound of Music was my first big influence along with the Philharmonic Orchestra—I had dreams of being a conductor! As a young teen in the 70's, Linda Ronstadt became my idol and will always be. Music is my creative expression, my feelings when I have no words and my personal escape. Come along with my "Band Family" and me and escape into our memories of younger years.
Carl Schwindeman
Lead Guitar & Vocals
Born in Oakland California. Lived in Walnut Creek and played in Garage Bands in the 60's and 70's. I met David Crosby in 1980 and toured the East and West coast until 1982. I've been playing with many different bands ever since.
Pete Ahonen
Lead Guitar & Vocals
My love for guitar playing started when I was about 13 years old. I learned a few cords from my neighbor a couple years prior to that but wasn't passionate about it yet. The game changed when a friend introduced me to the blues. He showed me how to play a simple turn-around from a Freddie King song and I was hooked from that moment on. I spent every moment playing my guitar or thinking about playing my guitar. Along the way I fell in love with great players like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix and Randy Rhoads. At about 18 years old I developed a passion for song writing after being exposed to the great lyricist Tom Waits, Shane Macgowan and John Prine. Since then, I've performed, written, and recorded with dozens of talented artists from San Francisco to Siskiyou County. Music is my comfort when everything is going wrong and my joy when everything is going right. It is my guide and my captain, and I can't wait to see where it leads me next.
Tim Willis
Bass Guitar, Lead Guitar, Flute, Harp & Vocals
I moved to Yreka, California in 1980 from Southern California and started a dental practice. Prior to this, I played music professionally in night clubs and restaurants in Newport Beach and Mammoth Lakes, California. In Siskiyou County, California I played Country music for 11 years with the Gregory Mountain Gang. Next, I started a Classic Rock Band, Gimme Shelter Band, for 10 years. Currently, I have been playing bass, lead guitar, flute and vocals with the wild band members in River Rock Band. I truly love all types of music including the Blues, Classic Rock, Country, Blue Grass and Gospel music. Music is the glue that holds me together.
Jim Reynolds
Guitar, Harp & Vocals
I am a Siskiyou County local who loves country life, good music and all the people around me. A retired social worker, I am now living my best chapter as an original member of the River Rock Band, singing, blowing the harp and playing rhythm guitar. Playing in the band is pure fun, it gives me the chance to make people smile and meet new friends along the way. When I am not making music, I am out exploring the trails with my wife, Joanne, and our two loyal, little dogs—proof that adventures are always better with good company.
